Church of the Redeemer

Welcome to Church of the Redeemer (CoR) in Bowie, Maryland. CoR is a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, serving the southern Maryland and D.C. are. CoR was founded in 1963, and is dedicated to ministry, based on God's calling to us.

Mission

Christ in us, we share God's love, acceptance, and forgiveness with each other, our community, and the world.

Vision

"Growing in Christ, Growing His Kingdom:" God's vision for us in community is to grow through worshipping, welcoming, serving, learning, and "over all these things, love."

Affiliation

Church of the Redeemer is a part of the Evangelical Covenant Church, a denomination devoted to helping people engage in a personal relationship with God.

We are BIBLICAL people, affirming that: 

• the Bible is the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine and conduct;

• Jesus Christ is Savior and Lord;

• God forgives sins;

• being a child of God through personal faith in Jesus Christ is central to our lives.

We are EVANGELICAL people:

• believing that it is our responsibility to share the good news of a risen Savior;

• committed to sharing this good news through missionary, benevolent and educational ministries, locally, regionally and globally.

We are ECUMENICAL people:

• committed to cooperation with other Christians and sensitive to other faiths.

We are COVENANT people:

• belonging to the Evangelical Covenant Church of America, founded in 1885.
